About Us

The Compassionate Support Programme for Bereaved Families is a project organised by the Department of Social Work and Social Administration of the University of Hong Kong. It aims to connect different social service organizations with persons bereaved by the tragic Tai Po fire, so that they may receive necessary practical, physical, mental health support. In addition, the project hopes to consolidate practical wisdom and empirical research findings in developing best practice guidelines and models in bereavement care. By providing assessment guidelines, intervention models and professional training, the overall competencies of helping professionals in offering bereavement counseling would be enhanced.
